Tyree Scott International
Worker-To-Worker Solidarity
Dedicated organizing while trying to survive in this capitalist world is hard. Need to pay rent and bills, support our families, maintain and build health, feed our people. Every day our grassroots leadership faces the dilemma of having to take a normal job to make enough money to survive and fund their organizing.
Relicensing Program
This system likes to control the people which is why being autonomous is so rare. Our people shouldn’t need to be afraid of losing their jobs for standing up to the patriarchy, or the cops, or for confronting corporations or politicians. This type of autonomy is scarce in the non-profit industrial complex. We want to be a different kind of non-profit that values the wisdom of the grassroots. Our people know what they’re doing. They are accountable to their communities instead of beaurocratic white respectability.
Family Wage Jobs
Our community organizers have experienced housing insecurity, violence from the cops, and targeted media attacks. We know that this work has considerable security concerns. We want safety for our people and the safety of our planet. We cannot be safe without community.
